Largest Tech Conference in the World

Even in uncertain times, the people and companies that redefine the global tech industry are forging ahead. For three days in December, seven British Columbia (B.C.) technology companies will come together virtually for the world’s largest tech conference.

The annual Web Summit, typically hosted in Portugal, has gone virtual, allowing more than 100,000 attendees and 2,500 start-ups from 150 countries to participate. Seven B.C. companies will join them for trade and investment opportunities, masterclasses, innovative roundtable events, networking with web giants and experts from every industry and lead generation. Conference topics focus on internet technology, emerging technologies and venture capital.

In addition to 2,000 journalist attendees, the event has attracted over 800 high profile CEOs, leaders and star-studded speakers ranging from Eric Yuan, Founder & CEO of Zoom, Brad Smith, President of Microsoft, and Reid Hoffman, Co-founder of LinkedIn, to Serena Williams, tennis player, Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Margrethe Vestegar, EVP European Commission.

Web Summit brings together the people and companies redefining the global tech industry. From British Columbia, those companies include:
Excelar Technologies, a software consultancy company that uses machine learning, big data to digitize and automate workflow; ScopeMedia, with headquarters in Vancouver and offices in China, an artificial intelligence (AI) start-up company with expertise in deep learning and computer vision; Matidor, a software company that combines geospatial data and environmental solutions for the ultimate location visualization and data collaboration tool for business; TTT Studios, a digital innovation studio, offers technical solutions in e-commerce, AI, blockchain, cloud computing, IoT and Smarthome, and augmented reality/virtual reality; MightyOaks, with retail, logistics and Geographic Information System software connecting people, processes and things with secure design and trusted cloud; Ergonomyx, a technology start-up company specializing in sit, stand, move workspace fitness devices; and Turnium, a multi-cloud solutions provider capable of leveraging networks to support digital transformation.
